An enchanted object's property tells you what it does.
To use an enchanted object, a character must be holding or wearing it, depending on the form it takes.
A ring that turns a character invisible isn’t going to do any good when it's tucked away in a boot, and a magic wand doesn't function unless it is in hand.
If the object has a limited number of uses, it regains expended uses once each day at dawn unless the property description says otherwise.
